Mt. Shasta is a favorite place for photographers to capture a lenticular cloud hovering above the mountaintop.  Sometimes, people are lucky enough to snap a shot as beautiful as this one.
This is a lenticular cloud that also looks like a space ship from outer space.  You can possibly see this type of cloud over a snowy mountain because this is where the atmospheric temperature differences often cause this formation.
These clouds sometimes look like UFOs. A lenticular cloud is formed when moist air from lower altitudes is deflected off the ground and rises up into the atmosphere where it is cooler. This picture is very cool because this type of cloud is usually seen hovering above mountaintops.  Here though, the lenticular clouds are seen forming over the sea.
